Jon’s Class Reunion
Posted by jcline on September 19th, 2005 filed in UncategorizedWell, one thing that continues to amaze me is that 10 years have gone by since I graduated from high school. Jon graduated in the same year, and they had their 10-year high school reunion this weekend.
Of course I went with him, despite the fact that I only knew one other couple in the room. I did talk to some other dates/wives of Jon’s classmates, so that was fun.
I have to say that my overall impression of the evening was…THESE PEOPLE LOOK OLD!!! Now, everyone in the room, except of course dates/spouses, was 28 - 29 years old. And I would say about 1/2 of them looked 45 or older. Some people had put on weight; some just looked like they had been carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders for the greater part of the last ten years. You could tell lots of people had indulged in hard drinking, hard living, and hard eating! One woman in a floral print dress with a mushroom-like haircut sauntered by and I marveled that she could have gone to high school with my husband.
I took a good look at myself when I got home for signs of wrinkles, gray hair, and general geezer-ness. I can’t tell if I look old or not. A few years ago I was quoted as saying, “Wrinkles are a sign of character. I don’t care if I look older. I’ll get more respect.” Yes, when you actually are older! I’m only 28…

LOL!
I don’t think there are specific rules regarding responding to comments. I respond on the senders site, but I’ve seen “threads” (strings of comments that evolve into discussions) develop on a single site.
All I remember is over-hearing something on the news about “Dubya” speaking in Clovis. It caught my attention because I used to date someone from that town and I remembered John was also from there. Who knows what the heck Bush is doing!?

I am sixty-one. I take personally any negative comments about growing older. On the other hand, Rachael–you are a wonderful looking 28. I NEVER looked as good as you do. But then again, I’m a guy.
